Espresso Martini Recipe
Ingredients:
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Coffee Liquor
1 oz. Espresso
3 Coffee Beans
Ice
History:
Another “Modern Classic” as we like to call them, the Espresso martini has become a staple at bars and restaurants across the globe. Not only are they delicious, but the name alone tells you this will give you a little jolt if your evening has moved on into the wee small hours of the night.
Around since the 1980’s, the creation of the Espresso martini has been attributed to a bartender working at Fred’s Club in London. Legend has it a supermodel walked in and asked for a drink that would “wake me up and then fuck me up”. We can’t speak to the latter, but it does do the former.
It didn’t take long for the cocktail to get just a smidge of fine tuning and then become a staple of bars and clubs everywhere. As if coffee wasn’t popular enough!
The Espresso Martini is great not just for the exquisite taste but also its appearance. Served in a martini glass or a coup, it’s a great drink for socializing or keeping with a sophisticated atmosphere when out on the town or at big events.
